JEN GILBERT

I am a qualified counsellor with a BACP accredited diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP and I am also a member of their Children, Young People and Families Division.

I work with young people from the age of eleven and upwards and adults from all different life experiences and backgrounds. I have experience working with a diverse range of clients and I work inclusively with everyone.

I have been a counsellor at As You Are in Southwick for the last 5 years and through them I am also a counsellor for students at Plumpton College in East Sussex. In addition to the above roles, I am the Youth Counselling Team Leader and have been a youth counsellor for 3 years at Sussex Community Counselling within SCDA.

I have experience working with a wide variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, isolation, bullying, expression of self, body issues, gender identity, issues around schooling including important transition periods and loss and grief.

Along with my counselling training and ongoing continual professional development, I have also trained and completed the ASIST workshop in suicide first aid.

My aim is to meet you where you are in your life right now, in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
